About What Is Personal Finance

Last updated: 2026-08-07

What Is Personal Finance is a free, independent site that teaches practical money skills: how to earn more, save more, understand investing basics, and compare credit products. Every guide is written in plain English, with no jargon and no product to sell you.

We publish two kinds of content. Educational guides explain how something works, like credit scores or compound interest, and never recommend a specific product. Comparison pages list real providers side by side, with data checked directly against each provider's own website. We date every comparison page and flag any figure we could not verify directly.

We hold every article to the same bar: check the number against a primary source, write it in plain language, and update it when the underlying facts change. Each article shows the date it was last updated.

What Is Personal Finance makes money from advertising (Google AdSense) shown after you accept cookies. We do not use affiliate links or sponsored placements, so a provider appearing in a comparison table has not paid to be there.

Nothing on this site is personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. See our Disclaimer page for the full explanation.
